The AHL announced that it plans to delay the start of the 2020-21 season to Dec. 4 because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The league shut down the 2019-20 season on March 12 as sports across the country ended competition as the pandemic spread. The AHL did not crown a Calder Cup champion.

When the new season does begin, the Wolves will have a new parent club. The NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes are expected to be the new parent club after the Wolves and Vegas Golden Knights terminated their relationship.
